I started my first business 28 years ago. I’ve created, managed and sold 7 businesses since. My success includes; growing a business to 90 staff over 20 years, selling yachts before I could sail, coaching businesses back from near insolvency and marketing a start-up technology business to be an industry leader. Along the way there has been success and failure, lessons learnt from business reality. The quest for further success drives me forward.

One book on my shelf begging to be read is Claude Hopkins “Scientific Advertising”. Written in 1923, these basic truths remain valid today. I try to read it every few years. What amazes me is the speed of technological change in the two decades. Where to next? I like to take overseas friends out on Sydney Harbour. Sailing the harbour is still one of Sydney’s best-kept secrets.

I’m passionate about helping people improve their business life. Small business owners rely on the quality of their marketing, yet most struggle to develop a consistent effective plan for their business. Throughout my career I’ve worked in a variety of fields, from production through management, training, and marketing. This has given me a unique perspective on the variety of challenges faced by small businesses.

My emphasis now is on helping Law Firms and other small businesses master the techniques required for online marketing. I specifically enjoy working with new clients to establish their online presence and train them on the use of specific software and marketing tools that will make life easier for them. I get particular satisfaction when clients tell me that implementing new strategies, such as Facebook Advertising or online newsletters, has helped to connect and engage them with new and past clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, taking dance classes, and spending time with my family. Here in the beautiful pacific northwest there is a great range of things to do, from visiting the nearby mountains to spending time at the beaches along the coast. One of my favorite places to take people when they visit is out to Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands. There is great local food, hiking for a variety of skill levels, and some amazing views from the highest point in the chain of islands.
